Windochine's signature design is 'Bamboo Silk', an ultra-thin, sheer open weave bamboo scrim, split to nearly hair-like fineness, and woven by hand. Highly labor intensive, the production sequence includes hand-applied finishes in nutmeg and ebony colored lacquer.
Drawing upon bamboo screening traditions of ancient Japan and China, this novel adaptation enhances windows, walls, and transition spaces to deftly blend East and West.
